Neuringer services

Mrs. Neuringer died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

She was born May 3, 1937, in Newton, the daughter of Kenneth L. Ely and Dorothy (Reep) Ely Dutton. She grew up in Newton. She was a Kansas University graduate and was a lecturer in the university’s English department for 19 years.

Mrs. Neuringer was a member of the University Women’s Book Club for more than 30 years. She was also a member of Tuesday Night Bridge Club, Johnson Society and Lawrence Opera Guild.

She married Charles Neuringer on Feb. 21, 1960. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Helen Benefiel, Lawrence, and Miriam Neuringer, The Colony, Tex.; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
