Columbia, Mo. ? Even though other schools might come calling, Quin Snyder says he is staying at Missouri.

During a rally early Sunday welcoming the Tigers from the NCAA West Regional in San Jose, Calif., Snyder spoke of his long-term plans for the Missouri.

“More important than any single game is the fact these guys have built a program … a program that will one day play in the Final Four,” Snyder told about 200 fans at Hearnes Fieldhouse.

Missouri lost 81-75 to Oklahoma in the regional finals Saturday.

After the game, Snyder left little doubt about his future.

“I’m not leaving,” Snyder told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Asked if that was a promise, Snyder told the paper: “That’s a promise.”

Missouri athletic director Mike Alden said in an interview after the rally that Snyder has more than four years remaining on a renegotiated contract he signed last summer.

“Any time you have success, you’re going to find other people are going to come and take a look,” Alden said. “I don’t have any reason not to believe Quin will be here.”

Snyder is signed through the 2005-2006 season. He is guaranteed at least $815,000 a year, plus bonuses tied to his team’s performance.
