KU bowlers in lead at qualifying tourney

? Kansas University’s men’s bowling team holds the lead after the first of two days in the Intercollegiate Bowling championships national qualifier. The top four teams will advance to nationals in Buffalo, N.Y., on April 17-21.

The Jayhawks hold a 230-pin lead over Central Missouri State heading into today’s competition.

Team leaders are KU 6470, Central Missouri State 6240, Western Illinois 6213, Wichita State 6206, Nebraska 6169, Florida State 6045 and Indiana 6005.

KU’s women’s team was in sixth place after the first day, 117 pins out of fourth place. Women’s team leaders: Wichita State 6001, Nebraska 5968, Florida State 5696, McKendree College 5519, Southern U. 5488, Kansas 5402 and Indiana 5127.
