South: No. 1 Duke vs. No. 5 Indiana

The story line: Just pencil Duke into the regional final. Indiana is fundamentally sound, but the Hoosiers don’t have the athletes to stay with Duke. The only way to beat the Blue Devils is to have a top-flight point guard who can penetrate into the paint. Indiana doesn’t have that, though it will be interesting to see if Hoosiers sophomore forward Jared Jeffries can get his points down low.

The “X” factor: Duke freshman guard Daniel Ewing played his best game of the season in the Blue Devils’ narrow win over Notre Dame in the second round. If he continues to play at that level and provide consistent outside shooting for a team that already has a ton of long-range shooters, no one will beat Duke.
