Taylor sparks upstart Creighton

? Hundreds of players wear No. 23 in homage to Michael Jordan. Terrell Taylor? Well, he takes adoration of His Airness to a whole other level.

Creighton’s sharpshooter has a version of every pair of Air Jordans ever made. Last time he checked, there were 25 posters of MJ in his bedroom back home in Bridgeport, Conn. He’s got the wristbands, the socks and a Jordan tattoo.

And the hat he was wearing Saturday as he and the Bluejays left the United Center? Jordan’s, of course.

“It’s ridiculous,” Taylor admitted, laughing.

Hey, when a kid shoots like Taylor did in Creighton’s stunning, double-overtime victory over Florida on Friday, who better to idolize?

With a hand in his face, Taylor drilled a 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds left as the 12th-seeded Bluejays pulled off the 83-82stunner of the Gators. Creighton will play fourth-seeded Illinois today in the Midwest Regional.

The East Regional matchup will feature another “mid-major” team as 11th-seeded Southern Illinois takes on third-seeded Georgia.

“It’s been like a dream, like a dream come true,” said Taylor, who’s seen his shot replayed dozens of times.

“But it’s over now. Somebody said when they saw Jordan jump from the foul line, life is not art and the moment passes by you as soon as it comes.”
