Kansas University might be the only Kansas Board of Regents institution which by 1980 would not have more room than it needed, according to Legislative Division of Post Audit report made public in Topeka. The report said that if current regents building programs proceeded on schedule, KU would have a 3.9 percent shortage of education space as the new decade opened because of rising enrollment projections. The five other state schools, however, might have more than 2 million square feet of educational space considered “potentially excess,” the study said, because their enrollments did not seem likely to grow nearly as much as that of KU.
