Clark services

Services for Olive A. Clark, 92, Eudora, will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Inurnment will be in Eudora Cemetery.

Mrs. Clark died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Eudora Nursing Center.

She was born July 19, 1909, in Starbuck, Minn., the daughter of Ole and Inga (Engebretson) Heltner. She had lived in Eudora since 1946.

Mrs. Clark was a retired cook and had owned and operated the Grill Cafn Eudora from 1946 to 1959. She was the first cook at Eudora Nursing Center when it opened in 1972.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Eudora.

She married Earl O. Clark on Aug. 26, 1946, in Lawrence. He died July 23, 1986.

Survivors include a brother, Arthur Heltner, Minnetonka, Minn.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Two sons died earlier, William Edwards Burns in 1959, and Elwood “Woody” Burns in 1994.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ or to Douglas County Senior Center Bus 62 program.
