On the record

 A 50-year-old Lawrence woman reported that someone damaged the brakes and clutch of her vehicle between 10 p.m. March 6 and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday somewhere in the city at large. Damage was estimated at $2,000, a Lawrence Police report said.

Fires

 The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported two grass fires Wednesday afternoon. One occurred near the intersection of County Road 1057 and North 900 Road; the other flared up in the 900 section of North 1200 Road, Lt. Kathy Tate said. No injuries were reported, and no structures were damaged in the fires, she said. Further details were not available Wednesday night.
