Louis J. Rockers

Garnett Services for Louis J. Rockers, 83, Garnett, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Garnett. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Garnett.

Mr. Rockers died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Golden Heights Living Center, Garnett.

He was born Dec. 11, 1918, in Garnett, the son of Mike L. and Stella E. (Steinbacher) Rockers. He grew up in Scipio. He returned to Garnett in 1951.

Mr. Rockers was a salesman at Hunt Furniture, Garnett. He also farmed.

He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Garnett, and a 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1368.

He married Evelyn Pickens on Nov. 14, 1951, in Garnett. She died April 10, 1980.

Survivors include three sons, John L., Berkeley Lake, Ga., Gary F., Burleson, Tex., and Michael W. , Greeley; two daughters, Pam A. Karlin, Baldwin, and Patti M. Haley, Lawrence; two sisters, Margaret Raymond, Garnett, and Teresa Rockers, Greeley; and 13 grandchildren.

Friends may call after 8 a.m. today and until service time at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, Garnett. The family will receive friends after a rosary prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
