She was born May 29, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Francis (Downey) Rhudy. She had lived in Perry since 1965.

Mrs. Michel worked at Jostens, Topeka, for 27 years. She also offered foster care for more than five years in her home, and she ran a daycare center in Piper.

She married Richard Lee Michel on July 1, 1952, in Warsaw, Mo. He died Nov. 21, 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Childers, Perry; a stepdaughter, Carol L. Harris, Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Onieta Davis, Springfield, Mo., and Juanita McGee, Leavenworth; a brother, David Rhudy, Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
