Dominic Louis Cervera

Graveside services for Dominic Louis Cervera, 91, Lawrence, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Wautoma (Wis.) Union Cemetery.

Dr. Cervera died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

He was born Nov. 8, 1910, in Amsterdam, N.Y., the son of Frank and Elena (Saccone) Cervera. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Amsterdam, N.Y., and was a graduate of Syracuse University, where he was a member of Alpha Phi Delta fraternity.

He served in World War II and received three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.

Dr. Cervera received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School. He was a physician for 35 years at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Ill. He became chief of staff in 1961.

He was a member of the Lion’s Club, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Catholic church.

He married Nina Loren Wandery. She died earlier.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann LaPoint, Lawrence; a son, Louis, Chicago Heights, Ill.; six grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
