The Kansas Federated Music Club’s 82nd Convention will be March 15-March 16 in Manhattan. Dee Blaser, Jo Hicks, Elizabeth Stephens and Trudy Bohanon, all members of the Lawrence Music Club, are planning to attend.

Members who have been with the club for at least 50 years are Erna Gilliam, Ruth Harwood, Midge Kraft, Marjorie Nation, Cora Lee Price, Dorothy Rumsey, Juanita Strait and Josephine Walker.

The Lawrence 99er Duplicate Bridge Club’s Feb. 27 game was stratified, used the Howell movement and was directed by Don Brennaman.

The winners were led by Harry Talley and Don Brennaman, followed by Frances Vogel and Judy Bevan. Julie Ward and Ann Thompson placed third, followed by Glenna Herd and Eldon Herd. Bill Hamilton and Michael Green placed fifth. Albert Ballard and Emily Foster placed second in the C session.

The Lawrence TGIF Duplicate Bridge Club’s March 1 game was stratified, used the Mitchell movement and was directed by Don Brennaman.

The North-South winners were James Gunn and Harry Shaffer, followed by Patt Radford and Mildred Linley. Kendall Wolf and Larry Smith placed third, followed by Don Brennaman and Julie Ward.

The East-West winners were Chuck Hedges and Yvonne Hedges, followed by Lois Clark and Julia Brooks. Madelyn Jenks and Mona Bell placed third, followed by Klee Zaricky and Shirley Reese.

The Lawrence Duplicate Bridge Club’s March 4 game was stratified, used the Mitchell movement and was directed by Virginia Seaver.

The North-South winners were Dave Piro and Robert Solick, followed by James Gunn and Harry Shaffer. Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough placed third, followed by Don Brennaman and Bill Hamilton. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty won the C session.

The East-West winners were Patt Radford and Bill Schutzel, followed by Lois Clark and Betty Collier.

Paul Heitzman and Donna Johnson placed third. Cathy Blumenfeld and Michael Blumenfeld tied for fourth place with Phyllis Brownlee and Madelyn Jenks.
