She was born Oct. 14, 1939, in Lawrence, the daughter of Otis and Mable (LaDuke) Wiggins. She grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1957.

Mrs. French worked as a nurse’s aide at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. and Kansas University’s Watkins Health Center.

She married Robert W. French on March 18, 1960, in Kansas City, Kan. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Lee Ann French, Seattle, Laura Newberry, Italy, and Lisa Clark and LaDonna Commons, both of Lawrence; two brothers, Ivan and Carl Wiggins, both of Lawrence; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
