She was born June 17, 1927, in Wichita, the daughter of Lewis A. and Sarah (Gafney) Kemp. She attended Kansas University and Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J.

Mrs. Miller was a drafter at Kansas Power and Light in Lawrence until March 1, 1951. She then worked for the engineering department of the Hercules Chemical Co., Lawrence, as a drafter and designer until she retired Oct. 31, 1987. She then moved to Emporia. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lawrence.

She married Owen C. Miller on Aug. 10, 1946, at Danforth Chapel in Lawrence. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two nephews and a niece.
