Jackquline Abbott has graduated from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga., and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army.

Abbott is an engineer officer assigned to the 1st Engineer Brigade at Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Mo. The 1991 Baldwin High School graduate is the daughter of Dorthy Armstrong, Lawrence.

Navy Ensign Donta Tanner, a 1992 graduate of Lawrence High School, recently received his commission as a naval officer after completing Officer Candidate School at Naval Aviation Schools Command at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla.
