Background

Typically, the commission’s vice chairman in one year becomes chairman the next. But vice chairman Jacob Plants has left the commission, and officials say they don’t know who the new chairman will be.

Use Permitted upon Review for Kaw Water Treatment Lime Residuals Processing Facilities is a project to eliminate lime residual discharge to the Kansas River through transport for treatment at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Submitted by the Municipal Utilities Department, city of Lawrence.

Proposed by-laws amendments were distributed to commissioners last month. Revisions are based on commission discussion at the April planning commission mid-month meeting. Rules of procedure, referred in by-laws, will also be discussed.
