Renegades win pair in Triple Crown tournament

The Lawrence Renegades won their final two games of the Triple Crown Tournament on Sunday in Blue Springs, Mo.

The Renegades defeated the Kansas City Generals, 4-0, in their first game and topped St. Louis’ Florissant Travelers, 15-14, in eight innings.

Seth Johnson picked up the win in both games, improving his record to 4-1.

Johnson struck out nine batters and faced just two hitters over the minimum in the first game and pitched an inning of relief in the second.

Carl Lisher picked up his first save in the second game. Cal Heinrich went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs, Brett Urban was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and Ryan Engel was 2-for-3 with an RBI in the second game.

The Renegades (15-7) will play in a woodbat tournament this weekend in Nevada, Mo.
