Delivery drivers needed for Meals on Wheels

Agency: Meals on Wheels

Contact person: Kim Tinsley, (785) 749-2207

Kim Tinsley, executive director, said the program needs regular and substitute drivers.

Meals are picked up at Lawrence Memorial Hospital any time between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The delivery takes less than an hour, and there are no more than six stops on a route.

All a volunteer needs to participate is a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. An experienced volunteer will accompany a new volunteer for the first time. Tinsley said she needed at least 12 regular drivers.

“We’ll take as many substitutes as we can get,” she said.

Tinsley said she is also in need of four room supervisors. Room supervisors monitor the distribution of meals.

No application is required. If interested, contact Tinsley at (785) 749-2207 or by e-mail at kimtinsley@cs.com.
