Clifford Berry Jones

? Services for Clifford Berry Jones, 84, Perry, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Perry Christian Church. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry.

Mr. Jones died Friday, June 21, 2002, at Colmery-O’Neil Veterans Administration Hospital, Topeka, after a long illness.

He was born Jan. 7, 1918, in Elk City, the son of Samuel Lester and Ella Rebecca (Troutman) Jones. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving from 1943 to 1945.

Mr. Jones was a carpenter and construction worker since 1949. He worked through a carpenters union in Topeka for many years and had worked at List & Clark Construction Co., Overland Park, from 1964 to 1975.

He was a member of Perry Christian Church and the American Legion Post No. 142, both in Perry. He was a life member of the Carpenters Union Local No. 1445, Topeka.

He married Jynell Jones on Jan. 4, 1947, in Independence, Kan. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Ronnie D., Topeka; five daughters, Rebecca Mae Cox, Elk City, Joyce Ann Bond, Perry, Cindy S. Spreer and Cathy L. Perron, all of Perry; and Nancy E. Jones-Sanford, Lecompton; two brothers, Donald L., Alexander, Ark., and Raymond, Santa Clara, Calif.; a sister, Dorine Howell, Morgan Hill, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
