Heck-Penny

Jeannie Heck and Bill and Marlene Penny, all of Lawrence, announce the engagement of their children, Kim Heck to Jon Penny, both of Lawrence.

The future bride also is the daughter of the late Dr. Steve Heck. She is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. She was a 2000-01 cheerleader at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is now pursuing a degree in accounting at Kansas University.

The future groom is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. He was a football player during the 1997-2000 seasons at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he earned a degree in civil engineering in 2000. He is employed with Penny’s Concrete Inc.

The couple plan an Aug. 3 wedding at Lawrence Free Methodist Church.

Robert and Marcella Gorden, Perry, and Thomas King, Leavenworth, and Theresa King, Perry, announce the engagement of their children Claudia Ruth Gorden and Adam Ellis King, both of Perry.

The future bride is a 1999 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School.

She is employed by Meadowbrook Apartments in Lawrence.

The future groom is a 1999 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School.

He is employed by Kiefs Mobile Entertainment in Lawrence.

The couple plan a July 12 wedding at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Perry.
