Pearl Elizabeth Westlake

She was born May 2, 1913, in Toronto, Canada, the daughter of George and Ann Rayfield. She attended school in Toronto and graduated from the University of Toronto. She moved to San Antonio during World War II.

Mrs. Westlake had worked for the province of Ontario in the Parliament Buildings in Toronto. She then worked as a bond inspector for the U.S. government in San Antonio. She then moved to Alice, Tex., where she taught commercial courses at the high school for 20 years. She returned to San Antonio in 1967. She moved to Lawrence in 1990.

She was involved in the Episcopal Church, belonging to several guilds and prayer groups.

She married Lowell Kendall Westlake on June 3, 1943, in Harlingen, Tex. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Anne Rowland, Austin, Tex., and Jan Swalm, rural Lawrence; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

A grandson died earlier.
