Nykesha Sales scored 18 points to lead the Orlando Miracle to a 66-62 victory over the Cleveland Rockers on Wednesday night.

Shannon Johnson added 13 points for Orlando, which battled back from a 14-point deficit. The Miracle (5-3) took their first lead at 48-47 on an 18-foot jumper by Brooke Wyckoff with 12:08 to play.

The teams exchanged the lead for the next four minutes until Cleveland went up 57-51 as Chasity Melvin scored on a layup, Merlakia Jones followed with two free throws and Melvin added two more foul shots.

Elaine Powell then scored six consecutive points for the Miracle to tie it with 4:16 left. Johnson made two free throws with 1:50 to play to put Orlando ahead to stay at 61-60. Adrienne Johnson followed with a 3-pointer for a 64-60 lead.

Sting 78, Mystics 64

Charlotte, N.C. Andrea Stinson had 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead Charlotte, which snapped the Mystics’ six-game winning streak.

Allison Feaster was 4-for-9 from 3-point range and scored 16 points, Tammy Sutton-Brown added 12 and Charlotte Smith had 10 for the Sting (4-5), who improved to 4-0 at home this season.

Chamique Holdsclaw led Washington with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Vicky Bullett scored 11 points for the Mystics (7-2), who finished 10-22 last season.

Charlotte scored the final five points of the first half to take a 34-27 lead.
