Braves deal Lombard to Tigers for Keller

Atlanta The Atlanta Braves traded outfielder George Lombard to the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday, before the teams played the second game of their interleague series.

The Braves received right-handed reliever Kris Keller, who pitched in one game this season for the Tigers before going on the disabled list May 31 with a strained right triceps.

Selig proposes steroid testing

Milwaukee Commissioner Bud Selig wants steroid testing to be part of baseball’s next labor agreement.

“You’re talking about the health and welfare of a group of people, which is very important,” Selig said Wednesday.

Selig said he first became alarmed about steroid abuse in baseball two winters ago when he met with a group of 10 team doctors.
