Shirley M. Black

Savannah, Mo. Graveside services for Shirley M. Black, 66, Barnard, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bennett Lane Cemetery, Savannah.

Mrs. Black died Monday, June 17, 2002, at her home.

She was born July 26, 1935, in Falls City, Neb., the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy Hughes. She attended Benton High School in St. Joseph. She also had lived in Bolckow and Savannah.

Mrs. Black had been employed at Savannah Shop & Hop for several years and had also worked at Thompson’s Garden Center, Savannah.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Savannah.

She married T.C. Black in 1952. They were divorced.

Survivors include a companion, Don Gillenwater, of the home; four daughters, Denise Clevenger and Randi Reavis, both of Savannah, Karen Chambers, Lawrence, Kan., and Lisa Black, Kansas City, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Breit & Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah.

The family suggests memorials to Hands of Hope Hospice, 801 Faraon, St. Joseph, MO 64501.
