City image researchers key on business issues

Researchers trying to determine Lawrence’s image on economic issues will talk to a host of business officials with companies that have been in Lawrence a long time, those that have left, those that arrived recently and those that nearly located here but instead chose against it.

Members of the city’s Image Survey Committee, which met Wednesday, say they hope the information can help them determine what businesses find both attractive and repelling about Lawrence.

Wednesday’s meeting featured discussion of who should be included in the survey. Actual interviews may start soon.

“I think we’re ready to get the rubber on the road, design the survey and collect the data,” said Dave Kingsley of Lawrence’s GRI Research, which is doing the survey for the city.

The final report is expected in early December.
