Musicians coming from across the U.S.

“An Afternoon of Chamber Music with the Shumway Family” will be at 3:30 p.m. June 16 in the auditorium of the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.

Here is a listing of the performers; the instrument they will play; and their relationship to Stan and Jan Shumway of Lawrence:

 Sarah Berry, 18, a graduate of Hickman High School in Columbia, Mo; violin; granddaughter.

 Christine House Shumway, director of the Young Musicians’ program at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio; violin; daughter-in-law.

 David Shumway, orchestra director at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, Md.; cello; son.

 Jan Shumway; maintained a piano studio in Lawrence for 35 years; piano.

 Sally Shumway, free-lance musician in the New York City area; viola; daughter.

 Susan Shumway, violinist and teacher in New York City; violin; daughter.

 Alice Young, member of the Baltimore Opera Orchestra and a teacher at the Baltimore School for the Arts; viola; daughter-in-law.

Tickets are available at the center and cost $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and students and $30 per family. All proceeds will go to the arts center.
