Police reports

Lawrence Police will be turning in a report to Kansas Alcohol Beverage Control about possible after-hours drinking at Quinton’s Bar & Deli, 615 Mass. About 2:45 a.m. Thursday, patrol officers checked the business and found two employees drinking alcoholic beverages. State law requires bars to stop selling or providing alcohol after 2 a.m., police said. No arrests were made and no citations were issued by police. ABC will decide whether punishment is necessary.

Injury accidents

A Baldwin man was injured about 6 a.m. Thursday when the 1994 Mercury Villager van he was driving went into the ditch off the northbound lane on Iowa Street just south of Sixth Street, Lawrence Police said. Michael J. Harris, 52, was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by ambulance. He was treated and released.

A Lawrence woman was injured about 7:30 a.m. Thursday when the 1985 Ford Escort she was driving ran off U.S. Highway 56 just west of East 800 Road. The eastbound car overturned once or twice, landing on its wheels, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said. Lesleigh Bahnmaier, 18, was taken by Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was treated and released.

Condition reports

Wanda Heath, the 45-year-old Woodbine woman who was injured June 1 after the semi tractor-trailer in which she was a passenger overturned on the Kansas Turnpike west of Lawrence, was listed in fair condition Thursday at KU Med, Kansas City, Kan.
