Chicago ? The Kansas City Royals placed outfielder Chuck Knoblauch on the disabled list Thursday with a strained left forearm and recalled outfielder Brandon Berger from Triple-A Omaha. Knoblauch is hitless in his last 13 at-bats and his average has dipped to .167. The move comes one day after the Royals placed Jason Grimsley on the 15-day disabled list.
