Lucille K. Coffman

Ottawa Services for Lucille K. Coffman, 88, Wellsville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Ottawa. Burial will be in Wellsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Coffman died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Eudora Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 11, 1913, near Wellsville, the daughter of Alonzo Vinson and Nellie Mahalie (Smith) McAuley. She grew up in the Wellsville area and attended Greenwood Rural School.

After completing school, she did domestic work for families near Wellsville. After her marriage, she was a homemaker. She also was a member of Pleasant Valley Community Club and the Pleasant Valley Birthday Club.

She married Lester Carl Coffman on Nov. 3, 1934, in Shawnee. He died Sept. 7, 1993.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Gorton, Topeka; three sons, Kenneth Allen Coffman and Carl William Coffman, both of the Wellsville area, and Charles Vinson Coffman, Lenexa; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Two infant grandchildren died earlier.

Friends may call after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
