Topeka: Junction City suspect sentenced in drug case

A Junction City man will spend eight years and one month in prison after pleading guilty to federal drug charges, authorities said.

Jermaine Lamar Mosley, 20, pleaded guilty in May to distributing crack cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, said U.S. Atty. Eric Melgren. Mosley was sentenced Monday.

Topeka: Embezzler sentenced in bank fraud conviction

A Salina woman was sentenced on Monday to one year and one day in federal prison for bank fraud, authorities said.

Kathy L. Herron, 51, was also ordered to pay $144,469.68 as restitution and the cost of prosecution, said U.S. Atty. Eric Melgren. Herron had pleaded guilty to one count of bank fraud.

Herron said she embezzled money from UMB National Bank of America in Salina by manipulating the books.
