Raymond Lee Tate

Services for Raymond Lee Tate, 56, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Tate died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 29, 1946, in Lawrence, the son of Alvie R. and Edna M. (Faler) Tate. He grew up in Lawrence.

Mr. Tate served in the Army from 1968 to 1970 in Vietnam. After his discharge, he worked for Farmland Industries for 28 years until he retired in 1999. He was a member of O.C.A.W union in Lawrence.

Survivors include a son, Shaun, Lawrence; his mother and stepfather, John Ray, Rock Springs, Wyo.; four brothers, Alvie R. Jr., Ottawa, Keith E., Pomona, Lawrence D., Lawrence, and Michael A., Independence, Mo.; a sister, Patricia L. Tate, Lawrence; and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday or 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The family suggests memorials to Nathaniel Burnham Tate Education Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
