There’s more than a few good men in Lawrence.

The proof: the number of e-mails, letters and calls that came in after we ran a note asking our readers to help us find the city’s most eligible bachelors.

Nominations came from friends, family members and co-workers ? all singing the praises of their favorite bachelors.

The men who were nominated come from all walks of life, from medical professionals to school teachers to university students to managers to business owners.

The difficulty came in narrowing down the 30-some entries and selecting six ? yes, only six! ? men to profile in today’s paper. The task fell to a panel of four single women, who considered each nominee before coming up with their final picks.

Still, we felt like it would be a shame not to introduce our readers to the other men who were nominated. So we called each one and requested to put a small bio and photo of them on our Web site. Those who agreed can be seen at www.ljworld.com/section/bachelors.
