Harvey ‘Pete’ Edward Wissler

? Mass of Christian Burial for Harvey “Pete” Edward Wissler, 89, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Annunciation Catholic Church, Baldwin. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Holton.

Mr. Wissler died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Baldwin Care Center.

He was born Aug. 11, 1912, in DuBois, Neb., the son of John H. and Alma Mae (Caswell) Wissler. He attended school in Whiting.

He worked in Texas and Louisiana on the pipeline during World War II. He moved to Sabetha and lived there nine years. In 1956, he moved to Lawrence and sold paint until he retired.

He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Baldwin.

Mr. Wissler married Mary Josephine Kelly on Sept. 26, 1936, in Horton. She died Jan. 25, 2001.

Survivors include a son, John Kelly, Lawrence; a daughter, Velma Jean Loyd, Burnett, Tex.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
