Jerry Dean Harper

He was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Topeka, the son of George William and Delia Marie (Johnson) Harper. He had lived in Topeka since 1959.

Mr. Harper worked in the casting and power plant departments at Dupont and later at Flex-Cel Co., Topeka, until his retirement in 1992, after 33 years of service.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10815, Meriden, member of American Legion Post No. 400, Topeka, and a member of the Moose Lodge in Topeka.

He married Sue Carol Embry on Dec. 11, 1954, in Topeka. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Eric, Topeka; three daughters, Connie Sue Hood, West Tawakoni, Tex., Peggy Denise Donaldson, Plattsmouth, Neb., and Diane Carol Price, Katy, Tex.; a brother, George, Gore, Nova Scotia; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive them from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
