She was born July 9, 1915, in Kanapolis, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann (Fait) Zahradnik. She grew up and attended school in Kanapolis.

Mrs. Peters was a practical nurse at Crum Nursing Home and Lawrence Memorial Hospital until she retired in 1980 and became a homemaker.

She married William Oliver Peters on Oct. 19, 1935, in Ellsworth. He died in February 1973.

Survivors include two sons, William “Sonny” Peters and Thomas Peters, both of Lawrence; a daughter, Janice Rogers, West Memphis, Ark.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the funeral home.
