Ivan Duane Snyder

He was born Dec. 27, 1935, north of Globe, the son of John William and Lefa Esther (Fishburn) Snyder.

He graduated from Appanoose High School in 1953 and attended Clark’s Business School in Topeka.

Mr. Snyder was a farmer and a stockman. He also had worked in the parts department at DeBaun Implement in Osage City, at Tuchers Magic Gas in Overbrook, in the maintenance department at Kansas University and at Clinton Lake.

He also managed a lime and rock business. He served three years in the Kansas National Guard in Ottawa.

He was a member of Appanoose Church of the Brethren, Lyndon Saddle Club, Kansas-Missouri Go Cart Assn., Overbrook Farmers Co-op, Farm Bureau and Michigan Valley Square Dance Club.

He was a former 4-H leader for the North Osage 4-H Club.

He married Kathryn Marie Kingery on Nov. 2, 1957, in Ottawa. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Debra Kay Smith, Overbrook, and Connie Marie Sparks, Topeka; a sister, Joyce Gottschamer, Pomona; and two grandchildren.
