Services for Rick Len Porter, 40, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Porter died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, in Oskaloosa.
He was born Jan. 18, 1962, in Lawrence, the son of Len and Dorothy (Broers) Porter. He was a 1980 graduate of Lawrence High School and attended Kansas University for one year. He worked for Keller & Associates, Lawrence, for several years as a real estate appraiser.
He married Theresa K. Shively on Nov. 3, 1990, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his son, Alexander, of the home; a brother, James Anderson; and two sisters, Penni Reeves and Judy George, both of Lawrence.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
The family suggests memorials to the Alexander Porter Educational Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
