I believe the real price of fur should be calculated not in dollars, but in deaths. To make one fur coat, you must kill at least 55 wild minks, 35 ranch minks, 40 sables, 11 lynx, 18 red foxes, 11 silver foxes, 100 chinchillas, 30 rex rabbits, 9 beavers, 30 muskrats, 15 bobcats, 25 skunks, 14 otters, 125 ermines, 30 possums, 100 squirrels or 27 raccoons. That is too much pain and suffering for a single garment, no matter how beautiful the finished product looks. I guarantee you it looked better on the original owner.
The next time you go shopping, please think twice before you purchase a fur coat or a coat with fur trim. Remember the animals that died for this barbaric fashion trend and choose faux instead.
