Coach Washington deserves better.
I have read the comments and observations of people concerning Coach Washington's performance at Kansas University. I, for one, believe for people to have an opinion worth listening to, they need to have some firsthand knowledge of the situation.
I go to every home game for the KU women's basketball team and feel that this year is a hard year but it is what every team goes through at some point, it's called rebuilding. Coach Washington is dealing with mostly new players and is doing the best possible job of coaching them.
Coaching doesn't start and stop on the court. Coach Washington and her staff truly care about the athletes who choose to play for Kansas, on and off the court. And that in itself is not as common place as it should be in this day and time.
Kansas State University is having an excellent year THIS YEAR, but they haven't been good every year since the program began and KU has had some good years, some GREAT years and now a not-good year. I personally feel that if Al Bohl listens to people who just look at one year to make their opinions heard and not look at recent history or the other great accomplishments of Coach Washington and her staff, then I can't find myself supporting the programs at KU in the future.
