He was born March 10, 1953, in Caney, the son of Raymond and Patricia (Mooney) Cochrane. He grew up in Topeka and graduated from Topeka West High School in 1973.
Mr. Cochrane was in the Marine Corps from 1971 to 1973 and served in the Philippines.
He was a longtime employee of AB May Heating and Cooling, Leawood, then owned and operated Crossroads Automotive, Lawrence. He returned to AB May Heating and Cooling until 1999, when he started Pat's Automotive, Lawrence.
Mr. Cochrane was a member of Mustard Seed Fellowship.
He married Janice L. Zook on Nov. 12, 1976, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Julie Ann Cochrane and Jodie Louise Cochrane, both of the home; his parents, Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Tom, Topeka; and four sisters, Rayetta Finefrock, Flower Mound, Tex., Roze Stirton, Lenexa, and Pam Behrens and Lana Noland, both of Topeka.
A son, Peter A., died Jan. 18, 1996.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Mustard Seed Fellowship, sent in care of the mortuary.
