Vinland Services for Thelma Snowbarger, 91, Baldwin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Vinland United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Vinland Cemetery.

Mrs. Snowbarger died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at her home.

She was born Sept. 7, 1910, in Ruleton, the daughter of Oscar and Mildred (Kvasnicka) Schmaltz.

She grew up in Ruleton and graduated from Sherman Community High School in Goodland in 1931.

She married Roy Snowbarger on June 14, 1931. He died in 1970.

Mrs. Snowbarger and her family moved to Baldwin in 1950. She was a homemaker for many years and worked as a cook at the Baldwin and Vinland elementary schools from 1952 to 1970. She was a member of the Vinland United Methodist Church, Vinland United Methodist Women and an Extension Homemaker Unit.

Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Coriell, Kansas City, Mo., Eloise Craig, Baldwin, and Miriam Thiele, Woodbine, Iowa; one sister, Dorothy Hanson, Houghton, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call after noon today at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Baldwin, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to the church or Vinland Cemetery Assn., sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin, KS 66006.
