Sewer service projects evaluated

January 27, 2002

Bottom Line

Commissioners will consider authorizing $400,000 in temporary financing for the Baldwin Creek Sewer District No. 1. The financing will allow work to begin on projects needed to provide sewer service to the approximately 120 acres that is north of Sixth Street, west of Wakarusa Drive and east of Queens Road.

County taxpayers won't ultimately be responsible for paying the $400,000 in bonds for the project. Instead, commissioners will form a benefit district and property owners in the area will have special assessments placed on their tax bills to repay the amount plus interest.
