McLouth man seeks more open boat docks

For more than a decade local anglers have complained about the lack of boat docks at the boat ramps at area reservoirs during the winter.

Leonard Covert of McLouth has drafted a petition asking the Corps of Engineers and Wildlife and Parks to keep the docks in the water at a few of the boat ramps at Perry Lake during the winter.

City angler 121st at Florida tourney

Last week, Cecil Kingsley of Lawrence caught 10 bass that weighed 14 pounds, seven ounces and finished 121st at the FLW tournament at Lake Okeechobee, Fla.

Brent Chapman of Shawnee caught 10 bass that weighed 15 pounds, six ounces and finished 113th.

Casting club to meet

Crown Casting Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 at Crown Chevrolet. CCC will have monthly activities from March through October, including a fishing derby on May 4 at Mary's Lake and season-ending event on Oct. 5-6 at Bismarck Lake.
