Services for Dorothy L. Davis, 89, Kansas City, Mo., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. She was a longtime resident of Lawrence.
She was born Sept. 30, 1912, in Bartlesville, Okla., the daughter of Lymon and Floy (Sherman) Lemon. She graduated in 1930 from Okmulgee High School, Okmulgee, Okla.
Mrs. Davis was involved in church work at what was originally the Evangelical United Brethren Church, now known as Central United Methodist Church. She also was involved in Kaw Valley EHU and did volunteer work for the Red Cross.
She married Glenn W. Davis on April 4, 1948, in Lawrence. He died June 11, 1986.
Survivors include a son, Thomas James Shannon; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren, all of the Kansas City area.
A stepson, Robert W. Davis, died in 1991.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials in her name to Hospice Care of Douglas County, sent in care of the mortuary.
