Texas A&M came into today's game fresh off an upset win at Texas, and looked to extend its upset streak to two. However, Kansas shot better, outrebounded Texas A&M and forced numerous Aggie turnovers to pick up its fourth conference road win of the season.

The home team jumped out to a quick 5-2 lead in front of the third largest crowd to fill Reed Arena. Turnovers became a problem just as quickly, and Kansas regained control and maintained the lead for the rest of the game.

Texas A&M held an early rebounding edge, and found success shooting long distance to stay in the game. Five of their first 10 baskets were from three-point range, and they ended up hitting 11 bombs on 22 attempts for the day.

Helped by 14 first-half A&M turnovers, Kansas used the last three minutes of the half to turn a 12-1 run into a 12 point lead.

During the second half, Kansas stretched its lead to as many as 24 points. The Aggies were not done, however, outscoring KU 11-2 over a two and a half minute span to cut the Jayhawks' lead to 14.

That was as close as they would get until the final minute, when Roy Williams had cleared the bench. Kansas improved to 17-2, 6-0 in the Big 12.

Drew Gooden, as usual, led Kansas with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Nick Collison added 19 points and eight boards. Kirk Hinrich scored 15 to go with eight assists, closely followed by Aaron Miles' 10 points and seven assists.

The Jayhawks made 21 free throws on 25 attempts (84%). A&M hit only 11 of 19 (58%).
