Phil Godwin and Phoebe Schierling were married on Dec. 23, 1951, at the Wesley Hospital Chapel in Wichita.
He attended Hutchinson Community College, Kansas University and graduated from the Kansas University School of Medicine in 1955.
Phoebe graduated in 1951 from the Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita.
The couple have three children, Greg Godwin, Keokuk, Iowa; Amy Wulfemeyer, Leawood; and Dr. Andrew Godwin, Jenkintown, Pa. They also have three grandchildren.
