Washington From a season's perspective, Michael Jordan's long-term memory included the "We stink" game at Cleveland, when Ricky Davis trash-talked as the Cavaliers routed the Washington Wizards.
His short-term memory recalled his struggles in the second half, especially in the two previous games, when tiring legs and zone defenses shut him down.
Both maladies were erased Thursday night, when Jordan scored 16 of his 40 points in the second half as the Wizards handed the Cavaliers their 11th straight loss, 94-85.
"I have a long memory," said Jordan, recalling Davis' antics in the 94-75 romp Nov. 27, which dropped the Wizards to 3-10 and prompted Jordan to utter "We stink."
"I remember him high-flying and dunking up by 20 points," Jordan said. "Those types of things don't go without being noticed. It's not one of those things you want to happen again, so the best way to do that is to get him in foul trouble and sit him down over there so he can watch us."
Davis had just seven points and four fouls in the rematch. Wesley Person scored 19 points 16 in the first quarter to lead the Cavaliers.
"I try to tell people he's got a long memory, and they don't believe me," Cleveland coach John Lucas said. "I think they believe me now."
