A two-day workshop on carbon sequestration and its effects on the future of Kansas agriculture is set for Feb. 12-13 in Salina.

Sponsored by the Kansas Coalition for Carbon Management, the workshop will look at the method of improving soil, water and air quality while yielding economic benefits, said J.D. Rector of Sedan.

Rector is chairman of the state coalition, which is sponsored by the State Association of Resource Conservation and Development Councils.

The goal of the workshop is to bring together those interested in carbon sequestration, particularly as it relates to agriculture and soil, to inform them of potential issues.
