Boulder, Colo. If it wasn't Britt Hartshorn making baskets inside, it was Kate Fagan nailing three-pointers. When Linda Lappe wasn't hitting key shots, Sabrina Scott was.
Hartshorn scored 16 of her 22 points in the second half, outdueling Iowa State's Angie Welle, and No. 20 Colorado beat the No. 14 Cyclones 86-73 on Wednesday night.
Lappe added 15 points for the Buffaloes, and Fagan had 13. Scott had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
"That's what good teams do," Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly said. "Every time they needed a basket from somebody else, they seemed to get it."
CU (14-6, 4-3 Big 12) posted its fourth straight win after opening conference play with three losses.
Welle, in foul trouble for portions of the game, finished with 12 points, eight below her season average. Lindsey Wilson had 23 points and Tracy Gahan 18 for Iowa State (14-5, 2-5), which dropped to 0-3 in conference road games.
No. 12 Texas Tech 62, Oklahoma State 51
Lubbock, Texas Jia Perkins scored 16 of her 20 points in the second half, when Texas Tech (12-5, 4-3 Big 12) held OSU (10-9, 2-4) without a basket for more than 10 minutes.
No. 15 Baylor 95,
Texas A&M 61
Waco, Texas Danielle Crockrom and Sheila Lambert had 18 points apiece for Baylor. The Bears scored 52 points under the basket compared to 34 for A&M. BU (15-3, 3-3 Big 12) had 16 fast-break points to none for the Aggies (10-8, 2-4).
Syracuse 75,
No. 16 Virginia Tech 59
Syracuse, N.Y. Shannon Perry had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Syracuse (10-6, 4-2 Big East). Perry also had two blocks and two steals. Sarah Hick scored 18 points for Virginia Tech (15-2, 6-1).
No. 24 Boston College 60, Villanova 40
Villanova, Pa. Kim Mackie scored 16 points, and Brianne Stepherson had nine of her 13 during a 20-5 run in the second half as Boston College (15-3, 6-1 Big East) topped Villanova (10-7, 4-3).
