She was born Oct. 29, 1911, in Sarcoxie Township in Jefferson County, the daughter of Oliver and Ida Jane (Daniels) Garner. She grew up in Jefferson County and graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1932.
Mrs. Coffman worked at Stokely-Van Camp, Lawrence, and as a nurse's aide at Metsker Care Home, Lawrence. She also worked at Bill's Cafe and Woolworth's, both in Lawrence.
She lived at Babcock Place, Lawrence, for 20 years.
She married Charles F. Coffman on June 7, 1933, in Lawrence. He died Jan. 20, 1957.
Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Findley, Lawrence, Patty Collie, Topeka, and Carolyn Kraus, Tonganoxie; three sisters, Alberta Snow and Elvia Ousdahl, both of Lawrence, and Ruby Coffman, Tonganoxie; a brother, Raymond Garner, Kansas City, Kan.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Heart of America Hospice, American Diabetes Assn., Oakland Community Nursing Home or Topeka Health Care Center, sent in care of the mortuary.
